31 Aug Updated Post: Georgia Beer is (almost) Free, Y’all!
Georgia beer drinkers: The day we’ve all been waiting for is fast approaching!
Thanks to a shift in statewide brewery laws, September 1st marks the beginning of a new era in Georgia. Starting then, beer lovers will be able to walk into their favorite Georgia brewery, pull right on up to the counter, and order a beer without a tour, just like it’s done at most other breweries in the world. Sure, we’re decades late to the party, but who’s counting?! Brewery tours will still be available and most places will offer some sort of flight option, allowing folks to taste a few brews at a decent price. Beer-to-go will still be a thing and you’ll be able to take home (yet, another) branded pint glass if your heart desires and your kitchen cabinets allow. And while there are still some minor details to be worked out, these recent developments are definitely a reason to celebrate.
Let’s toast to beer’s independence!
Breweries across the Peach State will be celebrating in a major way. If your favorite neighborhood brewery isn’t listed below, be sure to check in with them directly for details on how they plan to toast beer’s independence in Georgia*.
